I know it's possible to fall as low as you can go and turn your life around completely. It isn't easy. How often does it STICK?

I read about a former SKINHEAD who became a different person and now he spends his life trying to help other skinheads turn THEIR lives around and stop hating. I just wonder how such a vast difference in view/belief can be effected?Is there a specific rate of recidivism among them as there is among criminals?

    I believe in people.. .I believe people can change.. I've seen many examples, I hear daily of examples, on smaller or larger scales..  For sure some baddies never see the errors of their ways, seemingly they cannot or will not admit it, even to themselves.. but others change... presumably the motivation is knowing they were wrong, seeing that and knowing that they don't have to stay that way.

    I wonder what it is that causes some to hold on tight to whom they are while others (probably far fewer) see a better way to live their lives and strive to effect whatever changes are necessary? Thank you for your reply Addb. There is no anti-smoking person more anti-smoking than a former smoker! That's for sure! :)

    Isn't it rare? I would guess most folks go through their lives quite satisfied with whom they are. There is some specific unique think within that triggers the change. I think it is uncommon. Thank you for your reply tom! :)
