Perhaps all you folks have been here a bazillion years and so being an American citizen is no big deal.
For me it is a VERY BIG DEAL. My parents and grandparents struggled and suffered to get here. They became citizens. They were VERY PROUD and ALWAYS VOTED.

You all do whatever you think is best. We are not wired the same at all. So what? Big deal. Who cares?

    As long as you are a person who honors your standing and are not looking to look down your nose at those who are not citizens, I'm good.
