Hah! Such is the state of the US educational system...
The reason for the original "Tea Party" was not to protest Tax hikes, but to protest corporate tax breaks.

Protestors who caffeinated Boston Harbor were railing against the Tea Act, which the British government enacted in the spring of 1773. Rather than inflicting new levies, however, the legislation actually reduced the total tax on tea sold in America by the East India Company and would have allowed colonists to purchase tea at half the price paid by British consumers. The Tea Act, though, did leave in place the hated three-pence-per-pound duty enacted by the Townshend Acts in 1767, and it irked colonists as another instance of taxation legislation being passed by Parliament without their input and consent. The principle of self-governance, not the burden of higher taxes, motivated political opposition to the Tea Act.

Copypasta has its place. No need to re-invent the wheel. LOL

  • My point was taxes in general were mentioned.  I don't care if they tried to drink the harbor after steeping.

And so we are clear, the Tea Act was a government bailout for a company on the brink of financial collapse, the flailing East India Company, which was deemed to be, in modern terms, “too big to fail.”

It gave the East India Company a  monopoly on the American tea trade, allowing it to bypass colonial merchants as middlemen and to even undercut the price of smuggled Dutch tea.

    Sound familiar? Here's a hint...It wasn't "Democratic in nature"

George W. Bush and Barack Obama pumped spent billions to rescue the auto industry. That bailout ultimately cost the public about $12 billion.

Trump's direct payments to farmers hurt by his trade dispute with China have totaled some $28 billion.

It's clear who the bailout king is. Where in the hell do you get your news from? M2C?  LMMFAO

There was nearly $80B in bailouts given to the big 3 auto makers.... And that does not even get into the bank bailouts.   No Trump is not bailout king.....

The same people who will be making up for the debt created by the new tax laws giving corporations and the elite a bigger slice of the pie (as if they needed it).
