How far would you go to stay alive? What if don were to demand you take a loyalty oath to him out loud in front of a crowd? Would you oath?

Of course you coud still hate him but pretend to love him by oathing to him.

I do fear however he is working on a way to read our minds and so we can only have a "certain period of time" to lie when we oath. If we oath with hate the mindreading device will sound the alarm and well you can guess where we go thereafter.

But that's a bit down the road.

It will be a new frabjously joyful world. Trust me. I wouldn't lie to you. Everyone will do/say everything they should. Life will be perfect for everyone who complies. Elsewise those who don't will be sent to another place from which they will never return so they don't infect the Paradise Utopia. An ecstatic exotic exciting place to live under the benevolent guiding hand of don.

I like to think I wouldn't oath... I am a very principled person, integrity is one of the most important things to me.. I believe in standing up for what you believe in and even if that's against everyone else..

However, I am humble enough to know that sometimes pressures are put on us that mean we have to make the ultimate sacrifice.. I had such an experience where I had to do something, sell someone out, in my job to avoid losing my job and attracting even more negative attention.. it was horrible, I haven't forgotten it.. I don't feel good at all about it.

I can say I'd try my very best to avoid doing or saying something I don't believe.

((hugs)) Oh my dear I am so sorry you were confronted with that horror. Fingers crossed dumb don will be bounced and his vile maggots will be bounced out with him. Then we can hope to recover from his abysmal hate cruelty. It won't be easy and it won't be quickly. The vile maggot's damage will take a very long time to recover from. Thank you for your reply Addb! :)

    No, I wouldn't.

Matthew 5:34-37  “But I say to you, make no oath at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God, 35. or by the earth, for it is the footstool of His feet, or by Jerusalem, for it is THE CITY OF THE GREAT KING. 36. “Nor shall you make an oath by your head, for you cannot make one hair white or black. 37.“But let your statement be, ‘Yes, yes’ or ‘No, no’; anything beyond these is of evil.

James 5:12  "But above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath; but your yes is to be yes, and your no, no, so that you may not fall under judgment".

Good answer. That aspect of it never occurred to me. Very good point.
