I always avoid large crowds. No, I'm not to worried. The more hype they put out, the more panicked the public becomes. The more panicked people become the less their ability to think and act reasonably.
Quarantining people on that ship off of Japan was not smart, as it only amplified the spread of the disease. Bringing carriers of the disease here and detaining them in different places around the country was also not smart, as they cannot control its spread let alone always identify it. Bottom line is this - the disease willspread to every corner of the world. Panicking won't stop that. Common sense may help it not be as bad (practice good hygiene, avoid other people when sick, etc.). Eventually they will find a way to stop it or keep it under control (anti vaxxers are always out here).
Other than dropping ALL BALLS per the dumb don incompetence impotence stupidity what HYPE do you mean Shuhak? Do you think Dr. Anthony Fauci is a purveyor of hype or truth? Do you think reports that we were lackingin test kits and labs to evaluate the results is hype? Now every word out of the lying mouth of dumb don is always hype and his underlings subordinate toady sycophants lying lemmings. Excluding the dumb don puppets where did you see any hype? Inquiring minds want to know. If President Obama were still in charge all our pandemic global health experts would have hit the deck running immediately. But since dumb don castrated all of them there were none. SIGH. I think dumb don will muzzle Dr. Fauci very soon. Dumb don can't handle the truth. It is his enemy. Thank you for your reply! :)
The news media (at least here) is presenting this thing as if it were the end of the world. Doom, gloom - the apocalypse itself. Talk like this panics people. I'm not saying this thing isn't serious and frightening - not by any means. Even I am taking precautions. I simply think they should present it calmly and collectively. Yes it's dangerous. Yes it's scary. Yes it's deadly. But screaming at people to buy all they food, water and supplies they can as armageddon has arrived, is a bit much. People panic easily. Around here, if they even mention the word "snow" - even if it's just one measly flake - 3/4 of the population panic. Stores are packed, shelves are cleared, lines form at gas stations .... total panic. It's one thing to be prepared, it's another to scare people half out of their wits.
Dumb don isn't helping matters much. In situations like this, people look to their leaders for reassurance (as well they should). Yet to hear your country's leader say it's a hoax while the rest of the world is in total panic, is far from reassuring. Then when it does come to your country, that same leader treats it flippantly.
