A light breeze through the open window is a delight, though.

For me, it was never about the wind in my face or blowing through my scalp. It was actually about the sound a fan makes. Earlier in my life, I could sleep pretty well in a totally quiet bedroom. Of course, that's not the case now.

I like a steady noise, too.

If it's hot (summertime) I can tolerate it briefly, otherwise I do not like it.

I like the movement of air but not when it blows directly on me.  That's the reason I don't have ceiling fans.  My bedroom fan is on a footstool at the foot of my bed so it moves air around from around the bottom of the bed.  My living room fan is up toward the ceiling so it swirls the air from above.

I like to feel that the air is moving slightly....but not a breeze while I'm in bed...just a little air movement.  If I'm a little warm I turn a fan on low and point it toward a wall or lean it against a wall facing the ceiling.   I can't stand a ceiling fan over the bed....I worry about it falling on me.

When sleeping, I am asleep, so I don’t notice it.

Fan on my feet. If I am hot, feet are uncovered,  if I get cold then I cover them up.
My husband has a fan on his face.

Your feet thing! Me, too! :)

( I mean -- if anything can affect my sleep, or interrupt it, is my feet being cold or hot.)

Cool. I have never met anyone else who puts the fan on their feet.  :)
