Monotony. Even if they’re classics/favorites, it gets boring listening to the same songs all the time, several times a week or a day.


  What are ten songs that every single medium of music plays and replays so much that you get sick of hearing them?

  I seldom listen to any music that was released since 1999, my absolute favorite music was released between 1960 and 1989. I’m unfamiliar with music that was released in the past couple of decades. Whether it’s the radio, websites, podcasts, etc., most so-called “oldies” or “classic“ offerings drone out the same tunes day after day. There are thousands of songs that have been released over the years, I wish more true variety and more imagination was available. Grr.

    There are too many to list. We have an 'oldies' station (50s and 60s) broadcast from a nearby high school. They run a loop of about 100 songs continuously. Once in a while they change the loop.

    I only listen to radio in the morning while I'm getting ready for work and when I'm in the car.  I listen to stations that play the older music (60s, 70s, 80s) so I'm, not listening to an entire day of the same music played to death.

    Unlike most older folks, I choose which songs and playlists I listen to. Anyone who is bored should learn how to do that.

    LOL ... that presumes I have the device(s) to do that.  When I bought my current car, I got three months of free streaming music and never listened to it once.  After that, they bombarded me with offers to continue the service at various monthly costs.  I had to threaten to take them to court for them to stop sending me emails.  I can't remember the name of the company right now, but it's a big one.

    Sirrius Radio. I feel your pain. I have been through their harassment twice now. They call and write for years. What makes them think we'll change our minds?

    They are first-class harassers who can't take "no" for an answer.  Why would I pay for a music service that I didn't listen to when it was free?

      I do the same thing, my dear: I select various playlists that offer or supposedly offer the song selections I like. Therein, however is part of the problem. Many of those playlists are extremely limited in their catalogs/selections. If I listen to one for several hours, days, months or years, eventually I hear the same many of the song choices played again and again and again, instead of branching out to cover wider selections.
