Discussion»Statements»Rosie's Corner» A CROCK OF CRAP! The 2020 CENSUS. Why do they need to know what SEX my spouse is? None of their dam* business is it? WHY?
If they know one's sexual orientation, they can sell that information to advertizers for targeting purposes. Just sayin'. Ohio briefly had a sexual orientation question on hospital check-in forms. It didn't last very long before it was removed.
Take no notice with what anyone in athority tells you....they all have vested interest in things and are at their best when lining their own pockets...
It asks who lives in your (Person 1) home. And then it asks how are they related to Person 1 (spouse...opposite/same sex Unmarried partner...opposite/same sex Biological child Adopted/Foster child Parent Friend Etc)
They want to know name age sex, race and relation to person #1 of each person living in the home.
Rent/Own and which people rent/own the home. If own do you have a mortgage.
They use the information to determine where to build hospitals, schools, housing, and money allowed for social services in the area.
It also is used to determine the amount House Representatives for an state. (This is the main purpose)
They already know if you are married or not and who too. We have to buy a marriage license which lists the information. If not married you can say the person is friend.
Or not fill it out. But that hurts your community politically and economically. And they will send someone to your door to ask you the questions in person.
I'm not married and it's something I would never ever do...why people still do it is beyond me ... They can send who they like,my answer would always be the same...
As for hurting my community politically......don't all political parties do that to themselves....I can't think of one that takes England's people or welfare seriously...very few people in power world wide have any concerns over the welfare of this planet or other living breathing growing vegetation on it either.... There are two sets of rules....one for the rich and powerful and the other for everyone else im afraid.... Do you really think those in power disclose every single thing about their private lives....Do you think all their information gets sold on ...
I don't know what happens if someone refuses to answer in person questions. Like I said the information is use to determine Reps in our House and how much government money an area gets. So undercounting results in under representation in the government. We have programs where money is allocated based on the population. (For as example health programs such as Medicaid, Medicare Part B, Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), reproductive health programs, and community health centers...) In my state, it is estimated a loss of $1300/yr/person uncounted. So So not being counted unfunds your local community for government money that it is entitled to recieve.
Everything they ask is already publically available information. A internet search will tell who you are your marital status, kids names and who shares an address.
SHOW ME THE MONEY! FOLLOW THE MONEY! I shouldda guessed it had to do with money. Honestly E I did not think of that. Makes sense. Greed is Good per Gordon Gekko and Ayn Rand. Who is gonna argue with THEM? Thank you for your HELPFUL reply. SIGH. Oh your governor even though he is a REPUBLICAN is stepping right up real good! Congrats! :)
Why we ask this question: This allows the Census Bureau to develop data about families, households, and other groups. Relationship data is used in planning and funding government programs that support families, including people raising children alone.
How many folks do you show your birth certificate to ON DEMAND Stu? Seriously? Do you really think your question is RELEVANT to the situation of which I SPEAK? REALLY? SERIOUSLY? HONESTLY? I have no idea where you are coming from on this but I'm not there. Thanks anyway for showing up and participating. I'm sure you think you did a great job. Others will too. SIGH. Happy Tuesday to thee stubee and STAY SAFE.
My only point was that the government already has this info. It's also in the Social Security database. Perhaps my response to your other comment, that same-sex marriage is legal and socially accepted in most places, is more apropos. And one is required to show one's birth certificate when applying for a driver's license.
