Two times I have tried to edit a comment and both failed to correct. They were both well within 15 min.

Anyone else having this problem?

I have this problem on my work PC all the time. I can't edit anything at all and I can't click on the "like" or "thank you" buttons either.  Also, I've never been able to change the mug for my own avatar either from my laptop or my office PC.  I'm told I can't do this if I use Internet Explorer, so I'll just have to look like a monkey.:)

Things aren't right today. The 'error 500' glitch is one problem, then my carefully composed response to a post refused to 'take', and remained on screen with the timer going for ever and ever.

If all this doesn't get fixed before I die I shall have something to say about it, believe you me!

Let's see whether it likes this or not.

OK, it did, or it is simply indifferent. Impossible to say.

This happens to me almost regularly.  In truth, though, what often happens is that the edit goes in, but the page doesn't reload to reflect the change.  Try manually reloading.

Just to be safe, though, you should always copy long responses to your clipboard before pressing 'Save.'  That way you won't lose your work if the server craps out.

  • You may have been 500'd.  I have been copying my replies before pressing 'Add Reply' just in case I need to refresh and try posting it again.

Yep, had the same problem earlier today myself. I wanted to edit a comment and couldn't do so.

Convert to Firefox. I did years ago. As my son told me IE is a virus.

I've heard that there are problems with Firefox, too.  I was going to try Google Chrome, but my nephew said that wasn't great either.  Not sure what to do.

  • Firefox or Chrome are better than IE.  For the problems you're having, it may be a plug-in issue or javascript issue.

IE isn't inherently bad, but because it's so popular (like Windows in general) it is a far bigger target for exploitation.  Whatever you use, just make sure you keep it up-to-date.

If you're using Win 10, switch to Edge (Microsoft's new browser) instead of IE, which is still included but will be phased out.

Yes, but did it accept my offering for the one reason, or the other, or for some entirely different reason? What, exactly, decides, from one moment to the next?

OK, just don't edit yourself, and maybe the rest of us, over a cliff.

Thank you.  I am using Win 10.  If I use Edge, will I still be able to access my Yahoo email?

  • Edge is just Microsoft's 'new&improved' browser. They want to try and compete with Firefox and Chrome.  As long as you're not disabling cookies or using any other privacy features, it should work just fine...if not better (faster) than IE was able to handle anything.

As I said before, make sure you have all the current MS updates installed for security purposes.
