I kinda doubt that people having just been sitting around keeping an eye on AM, waiting for the site to improve or whatever... still, it's not entirely outlandish, right? RIGHT? :'|
My logic is a bit flawed, but I'm just so hopeful! Dx I miss logging on and seeing so many familiar usernames and avis.
If any former EPers here remember me, do say hello, I'm sure I'll recognize you. ^-^
I'm thinking the same thing :/ I'm still hopeful regardless. xp
I don't think we'll get a massive wave, but I know a lot of people hold dual memberships and there's always chatter between the sites. Just like we have people here who talk about SW, there are people there who talk about us. So, I think word will carry. Plus, many of them still have memberships here, so they're mostly getting my emails saying that the changes are coming. I'll be sending another message out right before the Mug goes dark and another right after we come up with the swankier Mug.
I also think a lot of the activity will depend on how well we all adapt to the revised Mug and how active the site looks after the refresh. It's super intuitive and our beta testers beat the tar out of it to refine it, but not one person had trouble navigating it, and a couple members of the beta team are not tech-savvy, so I feel really good about it from that aspect. But, yeah, I'd sure like to see our regular active member base jump right in and do their thing, because that will signal to any lookie-loos that we're still a happening place to be. Put on your game faces, guys. Grr... :) With regular activity from our normal peeps, we should start to see a slow trickle back. Not a deluge like we had in March/ April, but they'll poke their heads in and check. We just need to tie them up and keep them here. So, game faces, rope, and duct tape. ;)
Helloooooo Fri!! I just read your comments on my last blog. Thanks so much! I am grateful for people like you who care. That sounds so cheesy, but there it is. And I would be happy to see some more familiar people.
we might, you never know
Forget welcoming, you were on the right page with those cookies. We just need to figure out what to lace them with. ;)
Seriously, though, I appreciate your sincerity. I love that people like you are here. :)
I'm with you on the political questions. I wouldn't mind seeing more diversity and variety.
Maybe, but I think some will leave once Answerbag is back up and running.
Oh dear, I didn't know that was going to be happening. Some people will probably have dual-membership. o-o Regardless, I think Answer Mug still has a chance though. We have our positive atmosphere going in our favour, and that might be enough for some to stay even if the active AM population isn't huge yet.
Hello.
I don't expect a huge wave of EPeeps coming back. It's been too long for them to return now. They are spread around. A lot on Similar Worlds. I don't miss all the crap that went on on EP and I feel great here.
The AnswerBag'ers who talk about moving over there when it is restarted under new management have what they look for here already. They seem to have a lot among them, but they might take off. Time will tell.
This place is what we make it. Waiting won't change a thing. We define it by our activities, posts, comments and interaction with each others.
It might be, but some die hard Baggers will probably rejoin there and will be less active here. Not everyone is having a positive experience on this site. It will be sad to lose them, but I have a feeling we will.
:-)
I agree, but AB was a lot of peoples first home. The way it closed was a shock, new management may be a wonderful thing.
Maybe, maybe not. Some like it at Similar Worlds which is an EP with new management, some doesn't. What I hear though is, it's not the same. And I don't think AB will ever be the same no matter how much you wish for it. If not for anything else, then simply because of time. I heard there was a lot of negativity going on there too, like on EP. Hmm. Time will tell. :-)
Mmhmmm. It will be about the users. Not the site as such. It provides some features but if the users won't make use of them in a proper way they are useless. :-)
