Have vehicle manufacturers started to put mounts for smart phones as standard equipment in the design these days?

The last vehicle I bought was manufactured in 2015, so of course it has USB ports and iPhone connectivity built in. I most recently owned a 1999 model and a 2006 model of other cars, and when I bought the after-market or non-factory mounts, none of them worked very well in any of the three cars I've had since smart phones became viral and practically must-have.
