Everything new is suspect for a while until it becomes commonplace. I once saw an (old) article about how it was unhealhy for people to move around as fast as a Ford T would move them (this was even long after railroads started moving people at 60 miles pr hour or more).

It is not just the religious who like 'end of the world' prophesies ;-))

As for tweeting I suspect it was invented by advertizers to make it difficult for people to claim that SPAM is unwanted or any kind of bad.

Thank you for your helpful answer m'dear. That cracked me up. The part about how unhealthy it would be for folks to move as fast as an old Model T Ford could go. I  mean how fast could they go? Very slow, right? I think :)
