My grandparents lived in this old farmhouse built in the 1880's. During the 1950's, I would go in their main closet and turn on the light. The light bulb was something from the days of Thomas A. Edison. It was clear, hand blown glass with a squiggle where they terminated the molten glass. It did not 'unscrew' but had a ceramic base with screws sticking out with wires attached.  Grandma said it came with the house and had never been changed in her lifetime.
