When you crack open a fortune cookie, do you only do it to get to the paper inside, or do you also eat the cookie?

Personally, I’ve never liked the taste.  Ever since I was a little kid and tasted one for the first time, I’m not a fan.

    I've always thought they seem a bit unsanitary, but not bad tasting. I could easily live with never tasting another one, though.

  • I love the cookies. I like that the are not that sweet. But many aren't very good. I've had some from the factory in San Francisco and they were so much better than most I've had.

    I thought the rules were that you had to:
    1) Break it open
    2) Eat the first half
    3) Read the fortune
    4) Eat the second half

    ...In that precise order without fail or your fortune doesn't come true. 

    So, that in mind, I always eat the first half. Sometimes, I don't eat the second half. Which I recognize is utterly ridiculous, but it's just how things are done, and so I do.
