I expect gun/bible peeps have MANY MORE GUNS than they have Bibles. I could be wrong. How many of each do YOU have? Why?

It seems to me that THE WORD OF GOD is infinitely more precious than are the weapons that take away life. Whatchoo think?

Somewhere in my apartment, I have a King James bible, which I "liberated" from a motel room many years ago.  I don't have any guns.

I have a Bible that is falling apart which I hold together with a rubber band. It was given to me in 1948 at church when I was 11. I will never abandon it. We have no guns. Thank you for your reply L! :)

I actually have an Old Testament with a beautiful silver cover and embellished with turquoise stones.  I forgot about that.

I used to have a beautiful silver turquoise ring in the shape of a butterfly. I gave it to a friend. Also my brother-in-law has a beautiful silver and turquoise belt he has had for years. I love the combination! :) ((hugs))

Turquoise goes beautifully with silver.  I've seen it used with gold, but it isn't as impressive.  When I was out in New Mexico some years back, you could get all the silver and turquoise jewelry you could imagine.  Unfortunately, my skin tone does not go well with silver, so I only brought back a couple of pieces for my sisters.

In the best job I ever had I used to travel to Oklahoma several times a year to do audits in Tulsa at the McDonnell Douglas plant. I bought the ring at a roadside stand where locals would display their work. I really enjoyed those years. The people were so friendly and used to say (I kid you not) "Y'all come back ya hear?" Once I spent ten days straight in Tulsa around Christmas time. It was magical. It was in Tulsa where I tasted my first hush puppy and chicken fried steak and fried okra (that was NOT slimy). Also fried green tomatoes!! I thought I'd died and gone to heaven! :)

Taos has an outdoor "flea" market in the center of town where all the artisans, many of them Native Americans, come and show their wares one day a week.  It was magnificent.  I could have spent hours looking at everything.

First tasted hush puppies in Charlotte, SC.  Never had okra or chicken fried steak.  But, you haven't lived until you had a Philly cheese steak in Philly!

I have never been to Taos but always wanted to visit. It seems so mystical to me. Was it? I don't know why this script is so wackadoodle. It's running backwards! Thank you for your reply L! :)

I loved it.  It's basically an art center for all kinds or disciplines.  Every other street had a art gallery with paintings, sculptures, garden statuary most of which feature fountains and running water, jewelry  and the like.  Just about every gallery (and store) had soft Native American flute music playing and it sets the most peaceful tone.

I'm very wistful about a place I've never been. I think Carol Burnett has or had a Ranch in Taos or somewhere close to there years ago. There are allegedly places in Arizona that are somewhat similarly known for being "mystical". Red Rock Canyon? Never been there either! Thank you for your reply L! :)

John Tesh, a former news anchor turned musician, does a concert at Red Rocks every year.  I have passed through there and it is beautiful country.

I remember him. He was on some entertainment news show wasn't he? It's Red Rocks? Is it mystical at all L? Thank you for your reply. I have a "thing" for the mystical I guess! :)

Red Rocks is actually in Colorado.  I didn't find it mystical, but it was beautiful because of the rock formations and the rocks do appear to be red.

There is a RED ROCK in Arizona. The only place I visited in Colorado was Denver when my son lived there and taught there for two years before he moved to Honolulu. BEAUTIFUL STATE for sure. Thank you for your reply L.

There are Mystic places all around the world. Wouldn't it fun to visit all of them and compare the ambiance/vibes? Thank you for your reply L.

We have about 5 guns and more than 10 Bibles of different translations.

So as a gun/Bible peep, I have more Bibles than guns.

FIFTY? I bet that sets a record Shuhak. I have one. The one I was given when I was 11. It is treasured though falling apart. I wouldn't change it for the world. Too much of my life occurred while having that particular Bible. Thank you for your reply! :)
