    Eloquent---clearly expressing or indicating something.

Obama was and is eloquent; Trump is verbose ("wordy").

Eloquent tends to make the point clearly with fewer, more effective words than the verbose.

Not thinking before speaking or writing.

I am verbose - I often use more words than necessary to express myself.

    Don Barzini is succinct.

The character, Cirano de Bergerac, was eloquent; he expressed himself clearly and was fluent and persuasive.

And I am staccato. Shorter than succinct. I find you quite eloquent. This is an example of how I write.

You know you just set yourself up for who knows how creative they can become..., don't you?

I'll let it slide being that your words are huge in my mind...

But I see some of our friends are on who might not be so forgiving...
    Big winks and smiles!

Who says it's a fine line? True eloquence, especially in writing, entails economy of words. Eloquent writing is concise.

For example, "A resulted from B" is far more eloquent than "A happened because of B," which is still more eloquent than "A happened because of the fact that B happened."
