Reminds me of a story they had on NPR a couple weeks ago, when people were first told to "shelter in place". Some sports announcer took to announcing (on YouTube) the pedestrian traffic outside his apartment. It was hilarious listening to him "sports" announce how people were crossing the street.
I have no interest in watching old games where I know the outcome, although I have recently watched World Series highlights on YouTube from 1959, 1961, and 1962. I am, however, running a simulation of the 2020 MLB season on a program called Out of the Park Baseball. I'm 24 games in, playing late April games at the moment.
There is a difference. Most of the old games shown in ESPN, SNY, YES, etc. are specific ones where I know the outcome. With the three World Series I mentioned, I knew the overall outcome but did not know which team won each game except, of course, for the deciding one.
