If you hire a dogcatcher to perform brain surgery on thee is it any wonder you die? What did you expect in a president?
You "hired" a third rate lounge act for drunks/former TV reality show entertainer with a very shady past. What did you expect him to turn out to be? Why did you gamble on detritus and dreck? What the heck?
A poor President can still run a tight ship, provided that his cabinet secretaries are up to the mark. Reagan was actually dead, but his administration was wildly successful because those pulling his strings were very competent - they trotted their boy out, had him play the part and speak his lines while they kept things going behind the scenes. Also had a very able VP in GHWB (and there hasn't been a VP of his calibre since - didn't quite have the stones for the top job but was quietly brilliant as Veep). His Royal Orangeness has surrounded himself with stooges, trained seals and yes-men as corrupt as he is. Those few who may actually be able to do anything are running scared in case the fat boy capriciously fires them as he is known to do frequently. It's tough to do your job when you're always looking over your shoulder, waiting to be knifed in the back.
Don't forget Nancy R. She played a part too. Maybe not as important a part as the wife of President Wilson but she was there to make sure her Ronnie was treated right. Melania is worthless armcandy. Da big cheese is far worse than a "poor" president. He is evil malevolent indifferent selfish cruel greedy needy demanding powerful inane insane. Fighting that is difficult because all those who should be the rails have abdicated and roll over whimper beg play dead. A mess at best!.
