Tuesday, March 10th. I was doing my volunteer shift in a surgical waiting room. Actually, it might have been Sunday, March 15th. I was at the Y, working out. But, it was so unusually empty that I'm not sure there were 10 people in the fitness room. Things changed in a hurry.

I was in the supermarket and I don't think I've ever seen it more crowded.  It was a mistake to go on Saturday, I guess.   They had the markers all over the floor with one-way signs which no one was giving a hoot.  A woman on the loud speaker was reminding customers to remember to social distance.  She said over and over and finally she said "Oh well!"  She didn't mean for everyone to hear that.   The Walmart neighborhood market only lets a few customers go in at a time.

Way too long to remember, but I really do try to stay out of situations like that.

Ah, yes, I remember it well. It was Selection Day at The Harem’s quarterly rotations . . .

You shouldn’t be so jealous of them; you had your chance already and let me slip right through your fingers. It’s a shame, really it is, because now you’ll never know how high I was planning to place you in the weekly ratings.  Snooze?  Lose.

Well, here we are - a clue:

    'We gather glumly under trees,

Singly, or grouped in twos and threes,

Where drizzle and the dripping leaves

Anoint those whom his death bereaves'.

Last year, I went with a new friend to a Roman Orthodox Parish mass and I had not the foggiest Idea that myself and the people in there were going to endure multiple choir priests singing for the most of 3 or 4 hours. I was raised in a different branch of Catholicism where masses usually last at the most an hour.

Oh you poor baby! Well, no one said being a Roman Catholic was easy - or a Branch Davidian for that matter. When the time comes, after a day or two, if no blinding light comes streaming through the cracks and knot-holes in your box, just knock twice and ask for Gabriel. He'll let you out .  .  .  . If it's all real, that is.
