So far the 2016 GOP prez wannabe is the only one in history who so far hasn't received even ONE newspaper endorsement. SPESHUL ain't he?

Trump has received non-endorsements from some newspapers. Some newspapers who are not endorsing Hillary are telling folks to vote for ANYONE but Trump. Some newspapers who NEVER endorsed a Dem in their entire existence have endorsed Hillary! He is a mold-breaker for sure. One-of-a-kind. Unique. Never been one like him. Of all the places in the world he couldda gone he had to walk into an American presidential election and hijack it.

Looks like most people are missing out on the essentials of your question, as I read it. The real sensation is merely that it's the first time ever in history that no newspaper has endorsed the GOP candidate for POTUS. Doesn't matter if newspapers aren't the same as previously. Doesn't matter if journalism isn't the same any longer. There are still newspapers that supports GOP, but apparently aren't willing to endorse their candidate this time. Food for thought? Apparently not among the supporters. I seriously doubt anything will. Hmm.

You're spot on!  It doesn't matter.  It doesn't matter because Trump supporters don't care what other people think of him.  If anything, journalistic distaste for the man only fuels his popularity.

Tragically, I still don't believe Trump's opponents understand the reasons for his surge in popularity.

I don't understand it Tq. They are all recalcitrant adolescents going against what the adults want just to prove they can. That might work for teenagers and music and how they dress and if they tattoo or use piercings. It does not work when the dogged recalcitrance is focused on supporting someone like Donald J. Trump. They are hostile/bellicose/antagonistic/defiant. They will be dam*ed if anyone tries to  talk them out of it. Emotion is the driver, not intellect. Woe is us. Thank you for your reply Tq and Happy Monday to you! :)

    Hey, Rosie!

         "I don't understand it Tq."

You're not alone on that one!  That's why I keep admonishing Trump opponents not to obsess about it.  They're only fueling his support base.  Every time Trump is mentioned by name, he gets the attention he craves and, in politics and show business, any attention, good or bad, is good.

"They are all recalcitrant adolescents going against what the adults want just to prove they can. "

In a very real sense, you're right.  They feel they can afford to be adolescents, though, considering that there's not much difference between the two candidates from their perspective.

"Emotion is the driver, not intellect. Woe is us."

Yep!  I think it goes deeper than that, but then I also know people don't make political decisions on the basis of intellect.  Studies have proven the predominantly emotional motivations behind voting time and time again.

Trump is the elephant in every room in America Tq and quite possibly the elephant in every room abroad as well. He is the very scary possibility that all reasonable humans dread. As for the rest of them who support him I wonder if he used evil fairy dust to ensnare them?  Something is going on that makes no sense at all and is other-worldly and it isn't angelic. Thank you for your reply

    Hey, Rosie!

That 'something' which you see going on has historic roots.  Any time a big enough chunk of a population feels disaffected, the result is usually a demagogue like Trump (or Hitler).  He's what historians call the proverbial "man on a horse."  That's a somewhat cryptic reference to a dictator; a Caesar or a Nero.

You mean the man on the galloping white horse who will swoop in and "save" us?  I dunno. Trump is an arrogant boor. And those are his good traits.  That the disaffected have abandoned reason to cleave unto such a person as he is has unsettled me to the core. Everything about him that we "know" is quite disgusting. How he feels about and treats women/minorities/Muslims/etcetera etceetera etcetera. How he conducts business and stiffs people. How he is self-serving, self-centered/self-involved, selfish. How he lies. How thin-skinned he is and incapable of letting a criticism go by without becoming a ranting raving maniacal attack dog. The disaffected think he is the greatest thing since sliced bread and swell as he**!. What does that say about THEM? Thank you for your reply Tq and Happy Tuesday to you! :)

It won't be the first time that some Answermugger respondents "miss" the point of the question. They are the ones who use my questions as a basis to rant and rave and redirect because answering the question honestly puts them at odds with their avowed political beliefs and so they avoid an answer and launch an attack. Ho
hum how drearily tiresome. Thank you for your thoughtful reply SH and Happy Monday! :).
