Well, almost. I took care of my mother for six years, and after she died my brother tried to give the property to me with two houses on it. I declined the gift because I didn't want to be a property owner in California, and I didn't want the maintenance of a big house when SS is my only income, and I didn't want the hassle of being a landlord. So my other brother took over the property. He finds it nice to live here, only costing the taxes, and I occupy the little house as a caretaker when he is gone.
I don't blame you. I love the extreme North of California (up by Oregon) but I don't want to live there and deal with the oppression from the tax standpoint. Florida and Washington are good states from a tax standpoint. I will never pay state income tax again.
Yes...I am burning them down one by one for the insurance. They are all in the ghetto so nobody cares.
