Should a prez candidate get to choose the veep he wants to choose or do as he is told and select someone he is told to select?

That worked so well for John McCain. He WANTED Joe Lieberman and he got Sarah Palin. SIGH.

Selection by committe consensus. Why not. Do they make all the other decisions for the president elect too?

    They should pick who they want.  

    Palin helped McCain.  He would have lost much worse with Dem on as his VP.
