The 80's was a VERY cool decade with some very cool music. Sadly, most Millennials are too young to remember that. A lot of them don't even know what good music is (though some do).
By the way, Millennials didn't coin the term "cool", so how can they claim to know what the word even means? "Cool" was first used to mean what it means today back in the 1940's by jazz musicians, and it began to be used by teenagers of all races in 1952, when an article in the Michigan Herald-Press stated that "to be 'cool' is the desire of every teenager."
So "coolness" has existed since long before Millennials were even born. And what you consider "cool" now may have actually been considered very uncool by your parents when they were your age, and by Generation Xers (such as myself) when we were your age.
Of course, you're entitled to your opinion, but that's my two cents on the subject.

We're the meat in a demographic chit sandwich. On one side are the Boomers and on the other the Millennials. (I think there's another one before the millennials, but they're just the lettuce. :-))
