There are obsessive personalities. What would gun-obsessed people be obsessed with had guns never been invented?

Something else to use to kill all living things or something else entirely like growing roses? Whatcha think?

    You are probably right that it would be something else to kill people with.. There is some thought that was suggested to me that the settlers were people who had, necessarily, to be able to fight and protect themselves... and that this trait has, misplacededly been handed down genetically and psychologically? Even where no threat exists? 

    I really don't know!

    Remember m'dear the "settlers" were INVADERS. Not good people. TAKERS. KILLERS. Somewhat as they are today. What do you expect when that's the stock you got started from? Thank you for your reply Addb.

    Indeed! I have some theories around that.. certainly from the UK perspective, many of the settlers and people who left were the risk taker kind, the gung-ho kind... so, it might be that a large proportion were descended from that trait?

    Could be. Anything is possible. I know that American missionaries who traveled to other countries to "SAVE" people's souls brought disease with them. Save a soul kill the body. Good tradeoff apparently because they kept doing it. I have no idea why missionaries believe what they bring to people is a "good" thing.
