Democratic politics is a rigged game. The constitution and the law protect the status quo. The rest is just the dishonest one-up-man-ship of demagogues attempting to woo popularity. They want to give people the impression that they have power and choice in the way they vote. It's an illusion. Whoever gets into power, the differences in policy will be very minute. Since corporations have the only real say in economics ever since deregulation, governments have very little power to influence real change.
