Is Donald Trump (Not-So-Secretly) Working to Get Hillary Elected?
Consider that every time he approaches Hillary in the polls, he says or does something completely insane. Once or twice we could blame on his cerebral bereavement. After that I get suspicious.
I would say he's unwittingly helping her get elected, in the sense that he can't go more than a few days at a time without shooting himself in the foot.
All true, but there's a certain 'selectivity' about or timing to his outbursts. Evil he may be. Psychotic he may be. Megalomaniacal he certainly is...but he's just not THIS stupid. There's an air of 'deliberateness' which I just can't shake.
I've said this before. He's supposed to be intelligent. I mean... he is able to walk and use hand gestures, right? lol
It's inceivable that someone who obtained what he has obtained can behave so idiotic. The scary part is that that is exactly ohow he won the primary. It's seems like any success he has had is unintentional.
Indeed, this may be a situation where, much to the amazement of everyone, the reverse of the intended result was achieved. What was supposed to make Hillary unbeatable has now catapulted the man to the top.
One thing's for sure: we'll know in about a month. The election is Trump's to lose.
Here is what has been explained to me: There is a thing called pacing and leading which means to match someone's emotional state and then they will think you are on their side and they will follow your leadership and trump is doing this with some of his crazy statements. He says something extreme to signal to people he is on their side of some issue and maybe more on their side than is even reasonable and then he comes back slowly from that and they will support and follow. There is another thing he does and I do not know if it has a name but it is the reason for some of his other crazy statements or statements that he had others make public and that is to say something so wrong that if forces others to say what he wants them to say such as when the statement comes out that things are worse for black people than ever before he is playing the media and forcing his opponents to say that things are not that bad for black people. Now there is the question of polling and some polls look only at people who said they voted last time as likely voters and they even control the sample to have a proportion of people who say they voted for one party of another to match the proportion in the last election. Those polls show hillary with slightly more %. There are other polls that do not control this way and take a more random sample, and those polls show trump with a clear lead and they also show that voter turnout could be really high. So it seems there are competing ideas here and what you beleive will depend on if you think this election is like the last election and the election before and on and on, or if you think this election will become different and people will vote who do not normally vote and people will switch sides who normally vote all the same. I think that might be the case because for my I admit I have been too busy to vote in some elections and I have always voted for democrat but this time I will make sure I find time and I am voting for republican.
Right. It's all a masterwork of strategy on Trump's part...to put Hillary in the Whitehouse. :-)
Look, I see what you're saying, and I'm also familiar with the technique of setting rhetorical firebreaks, but this is Trump we're talking about. His staff might be just smart enough to plan and execute such an opus, but Trump himself...well, let's just say I have my doubts. :-)
As for the polls, in this contest you can throw them out the window. They're all wrong. Dead wrong. Why? Because anyone who enjoys a rewarding job and a social life isn't gonna confess to supporting Trump. This is one presidential outcome which will be nearly impossible to predict utilizing the more or less standard sampling methods, and we haven't even touched on the topic of tampering.

I think people will answer polls honestly and it is only third-party supporters that will vote different than they say and that is only because they change their mind last minute. But yes just in conversation people think it embarrassing to support trump and many do not admit it to me until I say that I am a lifelong dem who is voting trump and then they open up and complain about how bad hillary is and that they agree.
That last point is a damned good one. If I were a democrat (and I used to be one), I'd be incensed at the way Bernie Sanders got treated. I'd vote for Trump just for spite.
