It depends on what you're disrespecting them for. For instance, to disrespect another person simply because they disagree with you or you disagree with them would be the petty thing to do rather than the honorable, logical, reasonable, sensible thing to do. A difference in opinion is never a good reason to disrespect someone.
Who gets to decide who is worthy and who is not? Isn't that a matter of personal opinion? And what if you end up being the proverbial pot calling the kettle black?
