What are some often unspoken or unknown rules of etiquette that have emerged with COVID-19?

If people are following the rule then the rule must be known.

Any rule that is being followed....must be known. So using that logic there can be no answer to the question as posed. 

 

  Not so. The question includes the word “or”, which provides an option for any number or variety of answers that cover either of the two probabilities shown.

But I think maybe JA meant that even though there are official rules which are posted everywhere,
in local areas people do develop unspoken ways of behaving by copying each other.
In some towns and regions people give lots of space to one another, and in others the locals all cut corners.

It's like manners with drivers. If one gives way to others, they wave a thank you and do the same for others and it quickly gets rid of road rage and creates a great atmosphere on the road.

I don't know if this helps, but you're the one who inspired this, M2C. You posted something about how people think that they don't need to distance if they're wearing masks. I actually didn't know that was a rule. I thought we were wearing masks because we can't always social distance. Ergo, if I've been at the store, I don't really worry about the six feet rule much. I still give people space, but I'll cut around them in aisles or whatever if they're slow. I was looking for more examples of things I and others might not know.

Not walking 200 ft to get something 10 foot away. 

I cheat on that one sometimes too but it depends on who else is in the aisle. If there's already someone else there following the rules, I follow them too. If there's not, I grab what I need and dart back out like a ninja. 

I generally avoid aisles with people in general. But the one way stuff stopped working about a month ago here. We just make sure we stay away from each other.
