Andy Taylor and Deputy Barney Fife, Arneta Coursaut as Helen Crump and Betty Lynn as Thelma Lou, in real life neither of the ladies ever got married and neither one of them ever had any children.
Honestly, it's probably to be expected. Many actresses of that era didn't because the studios made their lives hell. The studios would force them into abortions and forbid them from getting married. I don't know if that happened with either of these ladies, but it was par for the course in their time.
