Have you ever randomly come across a meme that ACCURATELY describes something from your real life?

Here’s the one I just found:

And here‘s the one I just made as a result of finding the first one:

Come ON, man!  You’re married to a woman just like I’m married to a woman!! You know how they are!

Did you put the milk in with the handle to the back again?

    Lol, close.

Apparently, only sane and intelligent people push all the beverages completely to the rear of the top shelf in the refrigerator. The closer they are to the front of the shelf is an indication that she has married a violent sociopath who will one day hack her to pieces while she sleeps and scatter her home-cremated ashes over his corn flakes while lying boldfacedly to the police that she’s on an extended feminist retreat in Saudi Arabia.

Well, Randy, sane and intelligent people know that the back of the refrigerator is the coldest part of the appliance.  The closer you get to the door, the warmer it is and the inside of the door is the warmest part.

    :)

Thank you. In my wife’s case, it’s a space issue. The taller and larger beverage containers take up a lot of space, and when I leave any of them at the front of the shelf, she can’t see at a glance if smaller items are behind them. It’s a big deal to her. It inspires an eye-roll to me.

Well, considering what a small request this is, it would make life simpler if you complied.  Living alone, there is rarely so much in my fridge that I can't see everything no matter where it's placed. :)

I never said that I don‘t comply with her request; I most certainly do comply with it. I saw the meme and it brought to mind how eerily accurate it is here in my everyday life. It never occurred to me that it would make a hill’s bit of diff. Having a wife saved me from that point of ignorance.  (Cough, cough.)

With the flaps side to side, not back to front.

What flaps? They usually have a round screw cap.

Even if there are flaps, what difference does it make which way they face?

"With the flaps side to side, not back to front."

    What difference does that make?

If the carton is stored with the flaps side to side (spout to the left), then, to a right-handed person, there is less handling of the carton.  Simply take the carton out, pop out the spout (with left hand), and pour.  If the carton is stored in any other position, one has to maneuver the carton to the correct pouring position before using.

Strikes me as a really small difference not worth discussing.

Then why do you keep on discussing it?  You’re the one who’s beating the dead horse.

I never cared how the milk was put back in the fridge.....I just wanted the top to stay on it while out of the fridge.  I have had this conversation with  hubs as well as my children.  Same with the butter, the sour cream, the preserves, the nut butter,  the cheese stone and cover, the mayo, the pickles, all of it.    All foods must be covered unless you are actively taking a portion.    That was fun.  I haven't had to say it to anyone in a long time.

Like me, I’m sure you could never understand why that was so hard for them to understand. Sometimes I think I’m the only person in the entire household who knows how to properly close things.
