In this day of mass communication, a dictatorship can only really happen if the majority of the media is controlled by the State, or by very few individuals in lockstep with the State, as is the case in Russia, North Korea and China, and is happening to a slight extent in the USA, the UK and Australia. In these cases the state is in lockstep with Rupert. People are sheep, conditioned to believe that what is shown on TV or printed in a newspaper must automatically be truth. Thinking for oneself is much harder.
Here in the States cable tv stations are the dividers. Republicans watch nothing but FAUX NEWS with a sean hannity and tucker carlson and others of that ilk spreading whatever falsehoods will support the trump. Those who watch MSNBC are the opposites. I am among them. Ever it shall be thus. Now I think Rupert has something to do with FAUX but I am not certain. I KNOW he has nothing to do with MSNBC. Do you have a similar situation in Australia? We are known by the company we kteep. Also by the information source upon which we rely. Aussies too R? Thank you for your reply! :)
Fox is owned by NewsWarp. Murderdoch is Chairman of the Board, his son Lachlan is worse if possible. 90% of Australia's print media is his, as is the only cable service in 95% off the country - and he also has a finger in the free-to-air TV and radio networks, through dummies (our cross-media ownership laws prevent him from owning those directly, Scummo's government is trying to water those down on Rupert's orders).
AARRGGHH! My gawd! A clever plot was it not to control all the media? It takes a monstrous evil to set about to accomplish that. How to rout it out? I mean you control the media you control what people think. By feeding them lies all the time you own them. Good grief is there no relief? Thank you for your reply R! :)
