What is the coolest thing you ever found?

I found a 350 million year old fossilized piece of a tree branch in a limestone formation at a local park. A college professor verified what it was and said he had never seen its like before.

I’ve been thinking about this and no, I’ve never found anything really cool. Sometimes I find 20 dollar bill in winter jackets though when I bring them back out. That’s exciting for me.

I found a liberty half-dollar from the late 1800's.  I was rototilling my back yard when I saw it heaved up by the tiller.  Except for a small nick (from the tiller tine), it was in fairly good condition.

How long ago did you find the fossilized tree branch?

While camping we found an hatchling sulcata tortoise. He was just walking up the road.
They are not native to mid-west and cannot survive the cold winters here.
We took him home and had him for about 5 yrs. He was about 18 in then he had an allergic reaction to a desert star fruit.
