Some say there is no such thing as LUCK. So then are some folks born under a "lucky star"? How do YOU account for the vast differences?

A to Z our lives are so different from one another. Worldwide from terror suffering cruelty to living life in the lap of luxury. Is there some GRAND PLAN? Is there a fate that awaits each of us?

One attempt at explaining it would be Reincarnation......Karma.

OR it's all incidental accidental. A crapshoot. You win some you lose some and you can never control the dice.

That's it? That's the explanation why some live in a heaven on earth while others live in damnation? I dunno. Gotta be more there. Don'tcha think? Gotta be more there or else well Peggy Lee said it best.

IS THAT ALL THERE IS?

  • Numerologists believe if the number of your birth date is eight, you're doomed to have bad luck.  My birth date is 6.11.1989.  They calculate it by adding the numbers this way:  6+11+1989=2006, then 2+0+0+6=8.  The number of my birth date is eight.  Numerologists are correct about my life.  I have bad luck.

In school, we learned probability by playing dice.  I was the first one out of the game.  I've never won a prize in my life.  My friends and I went to McDonald's.  All of my friends won free food by peeling the sticker off the cup.  When I peeled the sticker off the cup, I won nothing.  I was the only one who won nothing.

I'm never chosen for something good.  The people who choose me are always policemen.  If there's a line of cars that are moving faster than the speed limit, the policeman has a choice.  He always chooses me.  I had four tickets for excess speed in three years.

I've never won more than I've paid for lottery tickets.  I travel for my job, so I bought my lottery tickets in the USA.  Their lotteries pay the most.  I played the same numbers in every drawing.  Now I'm off work because of COVID-19, so I can't go to the USA until the middle of August or later.  I bought my lottery tickets there for 26 advance draws, but I stopped playing because there was no more travel to and from the USA.

I matched four numbers plus the Mega Ball in the Mega Millions game.  The Megaplier was five.  The prize would have been USD 50.000, but it was the next drawing after my 26 advance draws ended.

Funny odd you should bring up Numerology Sirena. Let me tell you a story. I was into Numerology heavily decades ago. Here is what the books said then (I'm 82 now). 1 is the number of a Leader. 2 is a follower. 3 represents domestic tranquility. 4 is the number of hard work. 5 is the number for travel. 6 is double the 3. 7 is the number of mysticism mystery. 8 IS THE NUMBER OF SUCCESS. 9 is triple what the 3 represents.

I was divorced and the man I was dating asked me to marry him. I did the numerology thing with vowels and consonants and my married name came up an 8. So I married him. The best hing I ever did. I could not have gotten the son I have without him. We divorced eventually but on good terms.

I don't know what sources you used to get the ideas you have. Perhaps Numerology has changed since what it was 60 years ago. I don't know. I'm no longer into it. But I think it is quite remarkable that you are a user whose entire basis was opposite mine. I have always considered myself to be very blessed and very lucky. I take after my dad who was the same. My mom was not and she was not a happy woman. I have also had the good fortune to be able to adapt adjust bend. I have always looked at the doughnut not the hole. I have had losses and disappointments and tragedies in my life but I have handled them with hope and faith that it would turn out well. It did. As a youngter I was always chosen last. I was and still am an introvert but I learned to appreciate who I am and what I am many decades ago. It could have been so much worse. As I said I am very blessed and very lucky. When I needed Numerology I enveloped myself in it. I stopped needing it to guide me many decades ago when I learned that I am positive hopeful optimistic and have the ability be appreciative of and grateful every single day. I am not scolding you or criticizing you. That would be arrogant and impertinent. I just wanted to share my experience with Numerology with you so that you could know it isn't always the same for everyone. I thank you for your thoughtful reply and for sharing so much of yourself with us. I hope your rose garden is fragrant and that you take the time to smell the roses along the way. STAY SAFE and Happy Wednesday m'dear! Take care! :) This post was edited by RosieG at July 24, 2020 1:59 AM MDT

    Hi Rosie!

There are different interpretations of numerology, so I know which one she's using.  The one she's talking about is the number based on the date of birth, but the one you're talking about is the number based on a person's name.

The system that's based on a person's date of birth (the life path number) is as follows:

    1.  They're Number One!

    2.  They want to love and be loved.  They hate conflict.

    3.  They're all about communication.  These are usually people who have the gift of gab, or they're the people who never stop talking.

    4.  They're naturally teachers, or just plain know-it-alls.

    5.  They're the lucky ones! (unlike the 8s).

    6.  They're nurterers and caretakers.  I have a cousin and an aunt who are both nurses.  They're also both 6s.

    7.  They're the religious or spiritual people.  My mom and her brother are both hardcore evangelical Christians.  They're also both 7s.

    8.  They're business people.  Money and financial security are very important to them, but a lot of 8s also feel like they're really stuck in life and nothing ever seems to go right for them.  They also feel like they're misunderstood.  It's a tough number in numerology.  There are two people that I can think of on Answermug that I would bet money that they're 8s.  I would love to be able to see their birthdays in their profiles just to see if I'm right, but I probably can't mention their names.

    9.  They're the people who always seem to everything together.  They're the natural-born leaders.

There's also a life challenge number, which is the number that comes from the month and day you were born, excluding the year.  Eight is the number of money.  Both my mom and my father-in-law have life challenge numbers of eight, and they're both complete financial disasters, lol.  Dave Ramsey would probably just have a heart attack right away if he ever met either of these people.

I'm sure there are a lot of people who don't match their numerology, but a lot of people I know do seem to match their numerology for some reason.  IDK why.

Boy oh boy Liv did I ever strike gold with you! I did not know there was more than one Numerology. Of course I never did a lot of research on it. I don't remember the particular book I got out of the library so many decades ago and I don't remember why I segued into that. I've always been interested in the occult. Had a little unnerving experience with a Ouija  once upon a time and I set it aside and never touched it again. I had my chart prepared once upon a time and the preparer told me only good things so I kinda thought it wasn't all that real. I read the astrology prediction for each day. The good ones I accept. The not so hot ones? Balderdash! I can't lose! Thank you so much for jumping in here to educate me/us. I appreciate it. Hope you and yours are doing fine during these really tough times. Take care m'dear. Happy Thursday. STAY SAFE Liv! STAY SAFE! :) ((hugs)) Those are the only safe hugs these days. How sad is that? :(

  • I learned numerology from Livvie's husband.  My source is the same as Livvie's source.  We know each other.

Hi there m'dear! Well thank you so much for providing us with additional information. I do apprecaite when those with whom I chat fill in details like that. Some people stay closed off throughout all the years I chat with them. I know nothing of their lives. Only the words they are willing to share. It's nice to have pals on the site. I used to until he was BANISHED. My son's best friend from high school who has been like my second son for decades. But I have never met in person anyone else so all I know is from what these folks like you are willing to divulge! I'm so glad Liv jumped in to educcate me. I'm a perennial student so when people are willing to spend time sharing information with me I'm more than grateful for it. Happy Friday Sirena. STAY SAFE! :)

  • We're cousins.  We have great-great-grandparents from Germany in common.  One of their sons, my great-grandfather, took a boat to Buenos Aires.  Another one of their sons, Livvie's great-grandfather, took a boat to New York.  We met each other on ancestry.com.

Please forgive my impertinence Sirena but I am going to hug you. ((HUGS)) This reply to further clarify is really above and beyond and so well I'm a hugger. Not in real life any more because of the virus and maybe hopefully one day I can again. But in virtual world we can hug and no one will become ill because of it. I've chatted with Liv for quite a long time off and on so I'm familiar with her. You were new to me but now well you aren't! Thank you for your willingness to share yourself. That you and Liv met on ancestry.com gives me shivers. That was a very cousinly thing to do obviously! :) This post was edited by RosieG at July 24, 2020 2:45 AM MDT
