I've been thinking long and hard. Does man have any redeeming quality? Do we?

. Being man is overrated.

  • Do you mean mankind or men?

If it's mankind, I think we have many redeeming qualities.  However, not everyone has even half of them and many people have hardly any.  A few have absolutely none at all.

If you are referring to men having redeeming qualities I've thought about it and the answer is much the same.

Mankind. Our bad overrides our good by too much. It's the price of existence.

  • If you add the word, 'sometimes' to that second sentence then I'm with you all the way.

We are the only animals who have developed enough to have a complex society.

    That's not a redeeming quality.

  • (Are there not differing degrees of complexity.
Human societies are glaringly bereft in some respects compared to other, 'less complex' ones)

  • I was thinking along the same lines. Complex societies are hardly human exclusive.

  • On the other hand, taking away differences in technology, I'm not sure there's much difference between any two societies picked at random.
