    Oak hay, which is it?  If it’s optional, that means it’s correct. If it’s redundant, that means it’s incorrect. Make up your mind, please.

    I hedged with "arguably." It's an unnecessary word (if you haven't, check out the story of Professor Strunk's lecture on omitting needless words in "The Elements of Style"), in that it adds nothing to the statement about Element's missus. It is not, however, incorrect.
