What are some of the most popular sandwiches in Canada?

You see, a Canadian woman has just agreed to come live with me, her room and board will be free of charge. She doesn’t know it yet, but she’s going to have to make a LOT of sandwiches every day . . .

Guacamole and mayo sandwich. you’ll  be happy to know we are carb conscious,  so there will be no bread. the guacamole and mayo is smushed between two large lettuce leafs.

You hate me, don’t you?  Listen, the deal is off. Instead, Jane S has agreed to take the room that I have available. I couldn’t possibly have both of you locked in my basement under my roof at the same time.

Hold on, I don’t want you two talking to each other.  It’s not going to go too well for me if you compare notes . . .

An item I remember being served in cafes and hot sandwich shops a few years back is a "steak Canadian" The filling consisted of a slice of beef perhaps 2mm thick and without gravy or onions. I don't know whether this is authentically Canadian or not.

Same with what Americans call “Canadian bacon” I think it’s real name is peameal bacon. It’s not a thing here. I’ve never even seen it served anywhere. From things I see people post on the internet over the years,  I think they think that’s what we have instead of regular bacon lol, so weird.

They sell those at the dollar store. I fry them, then chop them up to make cheese steak sandwiches.
