If you were obscenely wealthy and could collect anything what would it be? Fancy cars? Stamps? Coins?
Would it simply be an investment that would increase your wealth over time or would it have nothing to do with that at all? It would be "just because" you liked/loved them and the owning of them was all you cared about?
Unique cricket memorabilia. The bat with which Brian Lara scored 400 runs in a single innings. The balls Jim Laker took19 wickets in a single match with. That sort of thing.
I can see it now R! It would be a separate room of course and much of what you had would be displayed behind glass to protect it? It would be for the joy of it. Something that would be handed down from generation to generation and never sold for profit. I can relate to that totally! For me...silly as it may seem...I fell in love with HUMPHREY BOGART when I was three years old. I saw a movie in which he starred that moved me very deeply. So if I could own anything of his I would treasure it. As for a sports memorabilia? Ever hear of Bobby Orr? He was a fantastic hockey player and I cut my teeth on ice hockey when I moved to Massachusetts and got my first taste of professional hockey. Then there was Larry Bird...Boston Celtics. Basketball. But long before Larry there was Pete Maravich...they used to call him Pistol Pete. He was something! And currently Roger Federer. Tennis. We'd love to own something of his. So I can relate! You would? You are very brave. Any bunch or group of people you get together will give you trouble. People being what they are. There would be infighting among them and rivalry for your attention. You'd get whining from each of them constant whining. You would ASK for that? As I said you are very brave. From yours lips to the heaven. How many dames would your harem consist of and would they be of all ethnic variety or is there a particular type you like? Thank you for your reply. Clothing them would cost a fortune. Then they'd have to be coiffed and manicured and pedicured and dyed. The upkeep could be enormous. Brave.
What are QSL cards Wolfhound? I collected unicorns for many years. I fell in love with them when I was 16. I still adore them but I haven't bought a unicorn anything for decades. I have a oil painting my sister did for me of a unicorn. Actually I have 4. She gave me all of the ones she practiced on. Also she hooked a rug for with unicorns in the pattern. "They" say unicorns do not exist. I say they are wrong. They just hide from us because they know they are in danger from humans.
