Trump's campaign staff are all Alchemists. Has Alchemy ever worked anywhere at any time? When, where, by whom?

ALCHEMY

A form of chemistry and speculative philosophy practiced in the Middle Ages and Renaissance concerned principally with discovering methods for transmuting baser metals into gold, with finding a universal solvent and an elixir of life. Any magical power or process  of transmuting a common substance, usually of little value, into something of great value.

    Alchemy was an early attempt at scientific organization. Eventually, with the invention of the printing press, books became available to help science grow. Oooops!  I used the word 'PRESS', which is the same as 'the media' these days. There's that pesky media again.
