High fiber and high protein are what I look for first. No numbered food dyes no high fructose sugar and no hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils. Then low sugar low sodium low fat though we do not eat low fat or non fat anything. When they remove fat they replace it with sugar for flavor and SUGAR is more deadly than fat.
