Which do you prefer, softback or hardback books?

And why?

As for me, I usually prefer softback books, as they are easier for me to hold and read. I might get a hardback if the book doesn’t come in softback form or if the book is perhaps a very special one to me.

  • I prefer hardcover.  They have more of a collector's feel to them. They are more durable.

I do hear you there. If it's one I want to keep and really like, not just read once, I prefer hardback. Otherwise I pass along most books I've read anyways.

I prefer hardback books, paperback books seem to feel cheap and flimsy.

    Depends on the book.
       If it's a one read
    and lost on the shelf,
    softback.
If it is a Spiritual Masters writings
definitely Hardback to preserve if available.
If Something that i might be referencing
    quite a bit...hardcover is cool
but soft back is good as well.

Hardback.  I love my books and keep them forever.  I write in them, make notes sometimes, turn down the corners, etc.  That's why I don't get books from the library very often.  And I'll never read from an electronic device.   I do sometimes, especially if it a book that is required reading for whatever reason.  I never stopped using the library for videos, CDs, and audio books.
