I feel like it should be 'closeted' rather than 'closet' here. 

Shall we have Randy weigh in on this? 

I'll check the manual, but I believe either is correct.

 

  Depending on context, either can be correct. When referring to a person who is “in the closet”, is “closeted” ever used?  Not to my personal knowledge, but the argument can be made that within context, it is grammatically correct and applicable in its meaning unique to “closet”.

I feel like closeted should be used, rather than closet, when referring to a person, based on grammar rules alone.
