Poll: what’s your prediction on how many new posts will be rants in political categories of AM on election night Nov 3, 2020?

1. Not by number, but by percentage, they’ll be up 50% of the daily average.

2. Thirty new posts per minute every hour into dawn the next morning.

3. The server will crash due to the deluge.

4.  It will read like a ticker tape machine.

5. Every word spoken by anyone on CNN and/or Fox News will have a corresponding tirade posted about it.

6.  That depends on how quickly hatred can be translated into word form.

7.  I don’t plan to log on that night; I anticipate how bad it will be.

8. Two or more of the above.

9. None of the above/Other answer:______.

It'll be one through eight but with some minor changes.

Every word spoken by anyone on CNN and/or Fox News will have a corresponding tirade posted about it.

Every word spoken by anyone on CNN and MSNBC will have a corresponding tirade posted about it.

    If Donald Trump wins re-election:

Thirty new posts per minute every hour into dawn the next morning.

Thirty new posts per minute every hour into the afternoon of the 20th of January 2025.

You know that this time, impeachment proceedings will commence at 11:50 pm on election night, correct?

I don't know it was pretty quiet election night in 2016.  :)

Er, um, what’s your point?  I know you’ve been paying attention these last four years, so the exact reason for my post focuses not only on both the parallels and differences between Election Day 2016 and Election Day 2020, but also the myriad of events from that time and now.

My point is exactly what I said. The site did not have much activity that night.  Even after it was clear Trump had won.   That is my prediction this year as well.  For the night anyway.

Oh, as a moderator, you’re planning to shut down Rosie’s Corner by then?  It’s  sometimes been active at midnight over the past few weeks and months, and the 2020 election is like catnip to its proponents.

    Of course not.

I am simply pointing out the history.  Election in 2016 was quiet here.  And that would have been in the main section at the time.  And we had more political posters at that time. I remember at least 5 others who are no longer active here. There are probably more whom I am forgetting.

It ramped up before and continued after but election night was pretty silent. This post was edited by my2cents at November 5, 2022 9:05 PM MDT

Scrolling back, I see how Sharonna and her ilk lost their minds after the 2016 election results came out.

Yes after the 2016 election night.  But immediately after the result was called that night...it was quiet here.

If I remember correctly, the 2016 election was called at something like 2:00 in the morning in my time zone.  I don’t think even the most die-hard political people were on here at that hour of the morning.

I guess it depends on what channel you watch. But I knew Trump won before I went to bed which was before Midnight here in Missouri  (before 11:00 in CO) when they called WI and MI for Trump....it was over.

I had been watching AM all night and it was quiet all evening.

Honestly, that's pretty much what I see happening here everyday, with the exception of #4.
