Was there an artist or musical group of your generation that everyone was 'supposed to' love, but you didn't?

I was never a Hendrix fan and I really didn't like Janis Joplin.

You got it right BigD.  "I saw her standing there" and "I want to hold your hand"  were poor excuses for Chart Toppers,  Somehow marketing obviated the need for good music.

Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Madonna, any heavy metal band.  The best Janis Joplin song was Me and Bobby McGee.

You can't recall any you dislike, therefore implying, (with my usual faulty logic), that you like everything, thus allowing me to post a humorous song.

Rap wasn't a big thing when I was a teen in the 1970s. It didn't become a thing until maybe the mid-1980s.
