After years of enduring city life, I finally got a place in the countryside. There are cows moooing off in some distant field, and roosters crowing. At night, there are owls hooting. I am growing great vegetables in my garden. Last month, as I sat in the garden, a mink slunk past. A real mink. A dozen more like him would make a nice coat. Hehehehe!

In a nonexistent utopia where everything goes the way I want.

It's a modest house on a cliff overlooking a calm sea, surrounded by old (and I mean REALLY old) grow trees except for a grassy clearing facing the sea.  There are no neighbors within 100 yards but there is a Home Depot, Supermarket, and Pizza Hut a mile down a windy, tree-lined country road.  It probably doesn't exist but I've seen a place that comes close in Scotland.  I'll probably never live there.

I love the sound of that!! How about Arcata, CA? Hehe, nowhere close, probably...
Scotland looks absolutely beautiful, I'd like to visit someday.

Arcata is nice but Trinidad CA is more like what I mean.  The great thing about Scotland is that you can get a house like I described for about 200 K!  It's pretty miserable there in winter though.

A place where the weather is never so hot or so cold or so violent as to interfere with my plans for the day. If it weren't for bad weather, Minnesota would be the perfect place to live.
