How does one determine the effectiveness?  I know the phrase 'clinically approved' is a media catch-phrase. What clinic? Larry's 'clinic-o-toothpaste'?

You either liked it or you didn’t.  Determining effectiveness is subjunctive.

I can't think of a reference standard for like/dislike when it comes to toothpaste. They are all the same. I read ingredients.

I'm not too particular but I don't like the gels.  I like paste with a little tiny bit of abrasive material.
