Why do we have to click on the question to find out who posted it? I'd much rather know that beforehand rather than who last responded.

Under the way the system currently works, questions are shown with the avatar of the person who posted them, and unless they have not been answered yet, the last person who answered is identified below the question.  If the person who posted it has the generic AnswerMug avatar showing, or if one does not recognize the personalized avatar, then one of the only ways to know who posted it is by clicking on it, which automatically gives the question a "view".  I think that's why some questions have dozens of views but only 3 answers, for example.

There are certain questions that give away who posted them, mainly by their content.

  • I agree.  I also wish every response wasn't posted separately.  The most current response would be better and not jam up the main page.

I have to agree that I would like to see who posted the question instead of seeing who the last person was to respond.

I keep forgetting to uncheck that little box that says, "Send me notifications when other members reply to this discussion."

I just realized that little box goes back to being checked when you return to the poll.  No wonder the notifications keep pouring in.  Accck.

  • Really? That's insane!! I've never noticed that. Just one more irritation to add to the list :(

Well, considering all that goes into getting a site up and running with all the changes, I can deal with the notifications for now.

My bet is, it will be resolved at some point.

  • I understand, but it's still irritating.

This site by far is so easy to navigate, even for me.  Now I can see who is responding to who so the little quirks don't bother me one bit.  I can wait for things to get fixed. I'll be here, regardless...

  • I'm pretty computer literate and I  find it difficult. Too many clicked and too many time wasters. Our old site will be opening back up in about s week and I'll probably be there when that happens. The Mug is just a little too disorganized for me.  Maybe once everything is fixed and working properly it may be good again.

I know about as much about computers as I do fixing cars...lol  I'm constantly asking, asking asking my friends how to do certain things.
I just enjoy the people on her and the quiet, actually. I was concerned at first as I'm not a person who takes change easily, but I'm glad  JA and all who helped her get the site up and going. I'm not having to ask nearly as much as I did on the old aM.

The box remains unchecked for me.

It remains unchecked only if I get to it the first time I reply.  If I try and go back and turn it off after I start getting notifications, it will keep going back to being "checked".

Something quirky in my browser maybe...

At least I finally discovered the box to begin with.

When you forget, not to worry.  There is an "unsubscribe" button right up above the question on the line with like, share, etc.  Just click it and you are unsubscribed.  It works the opposite too.

I mentioned this to Miss JAsking a while ago.  She agreed and said it will be addressed but she rightly uses the priority system rather than first come first serve.
