A question for parents:

What is a good/positive/beneficial/loving/caring aspect of your parents’ parenting skills that no matter how hard you’ve tried, you haven’t been able to emulate in raising your own children?

    Sorry, I can't help you---

    One of the reasons I wanted to marry and have children was to prove to my parents that child rearing was not as difficult as it obviously was for them and nowhere near as debilitating as it was for me as their son.

    Knowledge of how to parent was not widely available when I was a child.

    Your welcome---I though it might have some value even though it was not entirely on topic.

    Even the best intentions don't guarantee good results.

    Kind of like that TV add on smoking where the wife is a non-smoker and the husband is a smoker and now getting an MRI for possible lung cancer.  The tag line is (approximately):  My husband is getting the MRI, but we both are going to live with the results.
