Can you tell the difference between a wolf and a coyote if you see them around after dark? I can’t.

They do look a lot different in your pictures but when I see them if go for a walk at night, I can’t tell the difference. That being said a few years ago I called a friend crying cos I thought I had a fisher living under my shed. When he came over and investigated it turned out to just be a gopher. I always think worst case when see wild animals around lol. 

GAWD...what if Randy shows up at night...or worse, me?

I’ll order a whistle and baseball bat from Amazon, stat. 

 

  Lately, Jaimie doesn’t really worry any more about me showing up uninvited or unannounced, I can’t figure out why. Maybe she meditates these days.

You and those fishers! You're too funny with the animal fears. 

They’re terrifying:/ 

The internet tells me that fisher only weigh between 4-13 lbs (2.5-6kg) and that they don't attack humans unless they're provoked or cornered. (Which is a hellz of a lot better than we treat them). 

They're adorable. You should try to rescue one and keep as a pet. ;)

  Not in the direct vicinity, as far as I know. There are coyotes living wild in San Diego County, in addition to other predatory canine species, but the area where I live doesn’t have the open spatial habitat that they need. I do not know whether or not this particular area was ever populated by them.

I see, thank you. I thought coyotes one of those animals that are all over North America. 

 

  Human presence and urban development have worked hard to push native species from their habitats.

Makes sense :/ I know you are much more densely populated there than we are here. I think we are on our way to getting there to though. 

Were. Many have moved into cities, where there is ample food with little effort...trash bins. We have a lot of parks here where they can hide.
