Your mother was a saint who made sure you were good. I also wonder how it would have been with a father. He made me what I am by me not wanting to be like him. We could both write a book.

A psychologist once commented that everyone with a bad childhood could write a book--me too.

No, thanks.  I'm happy (so far) with the first time around.

Actually, that is easily observed by the quality and appropriateness of your posts on here.

A good childhood bodes well for everyone that child later interacts with.

I had a much better childhood than a lot of kids.  Parents who were married for 69 years before my dad passed away, raised to believe that we had to work for what we had, that we may have been the center of their universe, but we weren't the center of THE universe.  No matter how many times my dad was laid off (construction worker), there was always a roof over our heads, food on the table and clothes on our backs.  I wish that every child brought into the world had that upbringing.

    Just stuff to think about
But one can make up for lost time
by finding oneself beyond time and space.

As a Catholic, I consider my self already connected to "beyond time and space"---and I find an easy shortcut to that part of my existence to be a quick prayer asking for help to arrange my thoughts.

(And yes, when I am dealing with my Father and asking for help, I have found that He does not stand on what we sometimes think are the standard ceremonial protocols.)

No, I don't think it's healthy to think that way. Also, something about our lives being better left to chance.

However, there are parts I'd like to do over again because they were so much fun! My task is to keep creating moments like that as long as I'm around. I may need to work harder at that than I currently am.

Who's to say that doing it over again would not be left to chance?  Actually, if there is some clause or loophole or whatever it could be called, something that keeps you from knowing that you're living parts of your life over, or something that keeps you from retaining your present-day knowledge on the second go-around, it's theoretically possible that right now IS a life do-over.  Hmmmmm.

There you go with that science fiction stuff again!

If that's the case, that's the case.

There are portions that are certainly in my memory (if my memory is really my memory, or course), that I'd like to experience again. Things from 40 years ago and things from last month. Maybe I'm not doing such a bad job after all. :)

You forget that I DO NOT CARE!

I saw that you'd forgotten to capitalize the word "I" in something you posted recently. Happy search to YOU

I did? NOOOOOOOOOO!  Where, where, where, where, where, where, where, where, where, where, where, WHERE?  That’s one of the most egregious infractions of English language writing known to humankind! How could you let me go on in life without informing on me as soon as you saw it!  You know how much I obsess over these things! I need to edit it immediately. You have to tell me, you must, you must, you must, you must!  Quit being so cruel! Arrrrrrrrgggggghhhhh!

Of course not, and you knew I wouldn’t. With the sheer volume  of content I post here daily, no, practically hourly, I’d be searching for the proverbial needle. Ain’t nobody got no time for all that jazz, Woman!  I’m sure that either The Randy Nation or The Anti- Randy D Nation will gleefully point it out to me (IF it truly exists in the first place, which I highly doubt).
So, my frenemy, that’s where things stand unless you want to reveal the location of this mysterious error of mine to me.  I know you will claim you don’t remember, but this is exactly why you should pounce immediately when you see I’ve screwed up.

Not for me, thanks. It was hard enough the first time, but it made me the awesome person I am now.

Babykins!  You’re not thinking inside the box!  You and I could have met as young kids way back when, and started this lust affair of ours from the beginning!

Has it ever occurred to you that perhaps you and I need couples’ counseling?
