I thought it very appropriate...NOBODY screws with US Navy. By the way, it was a guided missle destroyer that launched the Tomahawks...they don't miss.
@E99 -- How is the US intervening in what amounts to a Yemeni civil war where Saudi Arabia has decided to side with one faction "very appropriate"?
Imagine if, during the US Civil War, the United Kingdom had shelled Washington DC because some Union shore batteries had mistakenly fired upon British vessels they thought were Confederate ships? Would that have been "very appropriate?"
There was no mistake here...the Yemeni rebel TRIBE knew what they were doing and wanted to create an international incident. It didn't work. I don't hear any protests from other nations.
@E99 -- You eithe rmissed the point, or you have established what I feared.
Since the US has ssupported Saudi Arabia in its efforts to pick sides in the Yemeni Civil War, the US is, in effect, at war with the Houthi faction. Once war breaks out, everyone pretty much has to STFU about tactics. Or you're stuck explaining why fricasseeing the entire population of cities (not all of which had military value) was a legitimate Allied tactic in WWII.
Once everyone STFUs about tactics, one has to ask about the legitimacy of the geopolitical goals of the conflict. Please tell me what legitimate geopolitical goal the US has in interfering in the Yemeni civil war.
Or are you simply happy the US military kiled F***ING HADJIS and broke sh*t?
